Liverpool’s Premier League triumph wasn’t just a story of 38 games, but rather a culmination of years of development by the club; which was brilliantly depicted in The End of The Storm documentary.

One can never tire, well maybe if you are a Manchester United or City fan you can, from reliving the events of the 2019/20 season, which saw the long -wait for a league title emphatically end in a truly unique style and in unprecedented circumstances.

Many hands helped mould Liverpool on their way to their 19th league tittle, some knocked it out of shape from time to time, until it lands into the safe hands of Jurgen Klopp.

And thats where the documentary and the story really starts, from the moment that Klopp took over in 2015- laying the first stone of many back to English and, European success.

The End of the Storm rightly takes a step back, before you begin to examine the heights of the 2019/20 season. It highlights how the magic of 2019/20 season could not have reached without the smalls steps being taken before.

The signing of German manager, alongside the emergence of Roberto Firmino and skipper Jordan Henderson ring true, whilst the new arrivals of Sadio Mane, the Dutchman Virgil Van Dijk and Alisson Becker are duly noted, as each front the camera to assess their own Liverpool journey.

And whilst for large parts of the story its unfolds chronologically, meaning as the viewer you know what to expect, and as it ticks off each game; the theme of emotion, community, multiculturalism is at the heart of it and that ties it all together.

The documentary takes you into the homes and lives of a handful of lucky Reds fans as they live out this shared experience together.

From Merseyside to New Zealand, India, Brazil, the United States, Egypt, and China. Just shows the global reach of the football club and Liverpool’s significance around the world is shown in all its glory.

The global pandemic just narrowed the focus even further, highlighting the lifeline football and Liverpool had for its fan, and players.

But the documentary does provide yet another reason to smile, as while the final destination is known the journey they take you on is comforting and is a level above other offerings Reds have been provided since the title was clinched.

There’s a bit of something for everyone as while Klopp has always made it known that he is not one for a fly on the wall intrusion, it does well to provide new insight through interviews, training ground footage and scenes depicted in comic-style art.

I think overall, The End Of The Storm is an enjoyable review of what was an truly incredible season, through various eyes around the world, one which is elevated by themes of growth, loss and triumph on the way to the club’s 19th league title.

A season where Liverpool made history and a season which saw the storm come to an end, at long last!

Definitely worth a watch!
